This website, flywithpip.com, is run by Fly with Pip, a sole trader based in Portugal. We are the "controller" of the personal data described here. You can contact us about anything in this notice at [email protected]. We are a very small business and haven't appointed a data protection officer (we aren't required to).
When you enter your email address to get a free guide, we collect your email address, the guide you asked for (A or B), the page you signed up on, the date and time, and your country (worked out by our host from your connection, not your exact location). We use this to show you the download straight away, to send you the guide by email, and to send you Pip's calm-flight letter: occasional emails with calm flying tips and news about our guides and printables.
Legal basis: your consent (UK GDPR / GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing us.
If you join the waiting list for something that isn't available yet, we collect your email address, which item you were interested in, the page, the date and time, and your country. We use it only to tell you when it launches. Legal basis: your consent.
Our printables are sold through Gumroad, which runs the checkout and acts as merchant of record: it takes the payment, handles VAT and sales tax, and sends your receipt and download link. Gumroad passes us your email address, anything else you type into the checkout, what you bought, the price and the date. We never see your card or PayPal details. We use this to deliver what you bought, help if something goes wrong, handle refunds and keep our accounts. Legal basis: performing our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)), and our legal obligations for accounting and tax (Article 6(1)(c)). Gumroad also uses your data for its own purposes (payments, fraud prevention, tax); that part is covered by Gumroad's privacy policy. After checkout, Gumroad may ask whether you'd like updates from us through Gumroad; that's optional and separate from our newsletter.
If you email [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it to reply. The address is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to our business inbox, which we manage with the help of an AI assistant service. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you (Article 6(1)(f)), or taking steps you asked for before a purchase.
Our host, Cloudflare, necessarily processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is cookieless: it doesn't set cookies, doesn't use your browser's storage, and doesn't track you across sites. We only see totals (for example, page views per page and country). When you download a free guide, we add one to an anonymous download counter (per guide, page size and day); no personal data is stored with it. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in running a secure website and understanding which pages help people (Article 6(1)(f)).
We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and the site itself sets no cookies. There are two small things to know about:
pip_ab_leadmagnet, with the value "A" or "B", so you see the same guide on every page. It contains no personal data and never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings. Our fonts are hosted on our own site, so no font service sees your visit. If we publish videos, they will only load from YouTube (in its privacy-enhanced mode) after you press play. If we ever add analytics or advertising tags that need your consent, we'll ask first and update this notice.
We don't sell your data or share it for advertising. We use these service providers, which process data for us under data processing agreements:
We use Buffer to schedule our Pinterest posts; it receives no data about you. Pinterest itself has no tag on our site. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK or the European Economic Area, it is protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum), or by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified to it. You can ask us for more details.
Under the UK GDPR and the EU GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected; have it deleted; restrict or object to how we use it; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw your consent at any time (this doesn't affect what we did before). To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We'll reply within one month. We don't make automated decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.
If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is Portugal's Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD). You can also complain where you live, for example to the ICO in the UK.
Our printables are for children to enjoy, but they are bought and downloaded by parents and carers. Our sign-up forms are for grown-ups (18+). We don't knowingly collect personal data from children, and the activity pages are filled in on paper, at home. If you think a child has given us their details, email us and we'll delete them.
We update this notice whenever we change how we handle data, for example when we add a new tool. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we'll tell subscribers by email.
